Wool roving, undyed

This thin wool roving is an undyed unspun yarn made from Finnish sheep wool. Each cake has two threads running together, but the threads are not plied together. Because this yarn doesn’t have a twist, it’s more fragile, but it can be knitted just fine when the two threads are knitted together.

This wool roving is made from completely untreated and natural wool, with all the good qualities of wool still preserved, including the natural wool grease lanolin. Lanolin makes the wool more waterproof, which makes this wool roving popular in knitting nappy covers. This wool roving can be used in various projects and products made from it can be felted in the washing machine.

Washing instructions: Hand wash cold with a detergent suitable for wool, lay flat to dry. For felted products: Allow for approx. 30% for the shrinkage. Wash the product at 40-60 °C with regular detergent to make it felt.

Knitting needles: 4-5 mm; for a product that will be felted: 6-7 mm
